Indoor cycling studios at A hobby offer a fabulous opportunity for road cyclists and enthusiasts to virtually train with Cyclone or join others for bike-led fitness classes. With plenty of indoor cycling and cyclone sessions each week, not only are you spoiled for choice, but you won’t be affected by the ever-changing UK weather either.

The physical benefits of cycling

Cycling is great for your body because it uses all of the major muscle groups. It’s good for increasing your strength, as well as building endurance. It trains your heart, blood vessels, and lungs because it is a form of aerobic exercise. It’s probably no surprise that intense spin classes can also be great for weight loss. A 45-minute bike session can potentially burn 400-600 calories and also helps speed up your metabolism. Indoor cycling is particularly interesting because it is a low impact activity, causing minimal impact on the hip, knee and ankle joints, especially compared to running.

Mental benefits of cycling

You are literally pedaling towards happiness! As with any type of exercise, cycling can really help lower your levels of the “stress hormone” we know as cortisol, reduce anxiety, and promote better sleep. Cycling gives you an adrenaline rush and release of endorphins, which are often referred to as “feel-good” chemicals. They can relieve pain, make you happier, and improve your body’s immune response.
