Delhi government schools provide physical training to students via YouTube channel
Even though schools remain closed due to the spread of covid-19, Delhi public schools have also found a way to take physical education classes online. From yoga to zumba to aerobics, weekly videos are now posted on YouTube for students to view and practice. Since June, classes in all public schools have been held online. But extracurricular activities have so far been at a standstill due to the pandemic since March.
India is in the third phase of unlocking. While several restrictions have been relaxed, schools and other educational facilities remain closed. The fourth unlock phase begins in September, but the government has yet to release guidelines on this.
“As the Department of Education (DoE) schools are closed to students due to the spread of the coronavirus pandemic, the sports and physical education branch of DoE Delhi has developed offline physical activity sessions, which will help students to reduce stress, anxiety and support to achieve the goal of comprehensive development of schoolchildren, ”a government statement said.
The Youtube channel — Fitness Activities DoE, Delhi — is uploading new videos every Wednesday. These videos will include yoga, meditation, aerobics, zumba, self defense and other fitness activities, which will be conducted in an interval training format for elementary school students, middle and secondary.
“Handmade exercise equipment that is readily available at home and made of a soft material is used in the diets. the sessions are specifically designed to be done in small spaces, without using a lot of equipment; In addition, students can do the exercises at a time that is convenient for them, ”the statement added.
Delhi public schools have been offering classes online, via text messages and television programs since June. The government has also launched online happiness program sessions for students.
